Joint Hypermobility Diagnosis iPad App

As an enhancement to his book, “The Joint Hypermobility Handbook: A Guide for the Issues & Management of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome Hypermobility Type and the Hypermobility Syndrome,” Dr. Brad T. Tinkle designed an iPad App titled, “JHDiagnosis” to aid health care professionals in diagnosing joint hypermobility and the Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.

The app walks a medical professional such as a physical therapist or a physician through the process of determining whether a patient has Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome Hypermobility Type / Hypermobility Syndrome. It includes audio narration by Dr. Tinkle that explains the photos being displayed as indicators. Photos of examples of joint hypermobility are included to demonstrate what a professional should look for in determining a diagnosis. Alongside the photos are key reference points to look for with regard to EDS / Joint Hypermobility.

The iPad-specific app is meant primarily for professionals as a reference point. The download itself is available for free in the iTunes store. Patients that suspect they have EDS / Joint Hypermobility have also downloaded the app to use in consulting their primary care physicians.
